2A Softball Reg. Qtr. Final: Troup to face district rival Harmony
LONGVIEW — Troup's playoff march will include a familiar partner this week when the Lady Tigers (27-5-2) open a Class 2A, Region III quarterfinal series with District 18-2A rival Harmony. Game 1 will start at 7 p.m. tonight at Lear Park in Longview, with Game 2 and Game 3, if needed scheduled for Saturday afternoon (1 p.m.) at Lear Park. Bothe teams easily disposed of their respective opponents last week. Troup won an Area series over Central Heights, 2-0, while the Lady Eagles (19-10) swept Woodville. The teams split their games in the regular season, with Troup winning at home, 3-0, and the Lady Eagles chalking up a 4-3 decision on their home soil in Big Sandy. Both teams are extremely young — Harmony has just three seniors while the Lady Tigers have two, Katelyn Standley, a Stephen F. Austin signee, and Ronni Boyer. The winner of the Lady Tiger/Lady Eagle series will take on either Rogers or Crawford in a regional semi-final next week.
