Ex-Cowboy Jones joins rival Philly Eagles
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles made an attempt at a low-risk acquisition of a onetime high draft pick by signing ex-Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones to a one-year contract Tuesday.
"I was just really trying to see what's out there," the 26-year-old Jones said.
Jones has averaged 4.8 yards per carry during his five pro seasons. But his average dropped to a career-low 3.6 yards last season. In his career, he has missed games with ankle and shoulder injuries and also has been questionable with hamstring and hip injuries.
"Injuries do play a big factor, but I can't dwell on that," said Jones.
