CONWAY, Ark. —

Katelyn Standley improved her batting average by 40 points after going 5 for 5 in Stephen F. Austin's two games against University of Central Arkansas on Saturday in Conway, Ark.

Standley, who is from Jacksonville, prepped at Troup High School under head coach Sam Weeks.

The true freshman catcher, batting out of the six hole, went 4 for 4 in the first game of the afternoon twin bill.

Her first hit was to the right side and she followed that up with three singles up the middle.

Standley also drove in two runs.

In the second tilt, Standley went 1 for 1 officially, while walking twice.

Her hit was a two-run home run to left field, Standley's sixth round tripper of the season, which is a team high for the Ladyjacks.

Standley, who has started 20 of SFA's 22 games, ranks fifth on the team in hitting, sporting a .283 ( 17 of 60) batting average.

Her 17 RBI ranks her tied for second in the category.

SFA (12-14, 3-2 SLC) lost both games to UCA, by scores of 7-6 and 7-3.

The Ladyjacks will be looking to get back on the winning track when they welcome Northwestern State (La.) to town for a Saturday doubleheader and a single game on Sunday afternoon.
