Lady Jackets terrorize Wells' pitching in 18-0 laugher

WELLS —

Alto's Lady Jackets took advantage of Wells' pitching on Tuesday by leveling the Lady Pirates, 18-0 (5 innings) in Wells.

Alto batters racked up 19 hits in the game as Alto moved to 12-3 overall and 4-0 in district. The Lady Jackets are ranked No. 5 in the current Texas Girls Coaches Association's Class A poll.

Alto led 10-0 after three innings before finishing off the Lady Pirates by adding eight runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Alyssa Duplichain had three hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs for the Lady Jackets, who host Price Carlisle at 5 p.m. Friday.

Other offensive leaders for the winners included, Kynzie Germany, Alexa Russo, Madison Crisp and Addi Pate.

Crisp and Duplichain combined to no-hit Wells, with Crisp working the first four frames and striking out eight Lady Pirates while walking none.

Duplichain worked the final inning and struck out two.
