Josh Raiborn threw a three-hit shutout while striking out six as the Rusk Eagles had no difficulty in running their District 19-3A record to 3-0 after destroying Groesbeck, 12-0, Tuesday night.
Offensively, Vijay Stingley paced the Rusk attack with three hits while Parker Clark and Jordan Roach tacked on two hits apiece.
Clark, Roach and Jace Lusk each drove in two runs for the Eagles.
Rusk used three big innings to saddle the Goats with the loss.
The Eagles plated four men in the second segment, three in the fifth and five in the sixth inning.
Rusk is now 8-9 overall. The Eagles have outscored their first three district foes by a combined score of 27-0, with Raiborn picking up the pitching victories in each game.
The Red and Black host Mexia at 7 p.m. Friday.
