H.S. Hoops: Loper pilots West team to all-star game win

TYLER —  Frankston Head coach and Jacksonville native Robert Loper guided the West to an 85-74 win over the East in the 10th Annual Azalea Orthopedics Boys All-Star Game Saturday night at Wagstaff Fieldhouse on the campus of Tyler Junior College.

The West led 42-30 at halftime.

Jacksonville High's Kedarrius Buckingham scored eight points for the West squad.

John Tyler's Tyus Bowser poured in 21 points for the West and was named as the game's Most Valuable Player.

In the girl's game, the East rallied in the final segment to down the West, 63-57.

Chancii Scott of Jacksonville tossed in five points to help pace the East's effort.

Kiana Turner of Tatum scored 11 points for the East and was named as the game's Most Valuable Player.
