JACKSONVILLE — After the smoke had cleared Wednesday night from Jacksonville's 64-62 loss to John Tyler in the regular-season finale and Lindale's win over Corsicana, a rare three-way tie for third place in the District 16-4A standings.

Jacksonvile, Corsicana and Lindale all wrapped up with identical 4-6 district records and trailed first place Whitehouse (9-1) and runner-up John Tyler (6-4).

To dissolve the log jam, coaches from Jacksonville, Corsicana and Lindale are scheduled to meet this morning.

A coin flip will first take place to determine the third-place representative, with the remaining two teams having to play, either on Friday or Saturday to determine who gets the fourth and final playoff berth from the conference.

That game will be played at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens.

We will be updating this story as developments unfold today.
