Tribe move to 7-1 in 7-on-7 league play

JHS, Bullard, Brook Hill go 2-0 in latest games

BULLARD —  Jacksonville ran its slate to 7-1 after Monday night's games in the Bullard 7-on-7 league.

The Indians bombed Frankston, 35-14, before needing overtime to squeeze out a 21-14 decision over the Tigers of Arp.

Bullard and Brook Hill also won both of their games on Monday.

The Panthers edged Troup, 7-0, and defeated T. K. Gorman, 20-14, in overtime.

Brook Hill needed an extra segment to put away Troup (21-14) and T. K. Gorman (20-14) in a couple of extremely competitive battles.

Jacksonville quarterback Carter McCown tossed eight scoring strikes in the Tribe's wins.

Tony Lane was on the receiving end of the touchdown grab that gave the Tribe the overtime win over Arp.

Conner Mebane hurled three touchdown passes to propel the Panther offense. Zach Eschberger was on the receiving end of each of Mebane's strikes.

Grant Hanks connected with Seth Brasher for Brook Hill's game-winning score in the win over Troup.

Brasher and Chase McDermott were the leading receivers for the Guard.

The league will wrap up play on Monday night, with the action scheduled for Panther Stadium.
