The UIL Class 2A state golf tournament would not be complete without the Troup Tigers included in the mix.
The young men from Troup made sure that they will be in this year's state tournament on April 30-May 1 in Austin by coming in second at the Class 2A Region III Golf Tournament.
The tourney took place Tuesday at Oak Hurst Golf Course in Bullard.
Troup finished at 665, just nine shots back of the tourney winner, Crockett (656).
Quitman, coming in at 705, will be the region's remaining representative in Austin.
Jamey Scruggs of Troup was runner-up in the individual standings.
He shot rounds of 77 and 72 on the par 72, 6,371-yard layout to end up at 149.
Medalist accolades were earned by Jefferson's William Powell (76-71 — 147).
Other Troup participants included: Callen Eastman (91-86 —177), Cody Johnson (83-84 — 167), Tanner Emery (85-87 — 172) and Dakota Boyer (95-91 — 186).
Hunter Arnold (81-85 — 166) competed competed as a medalist.
