FAIRFIELD — Robinson slipped past the No. 4-ranked Lady Eagles 2-1 in the opener before handing Rusk a 6-3 defeat in the third and decisive game of the series.

The Lady Eagles out hit the Rockettes 7-5 in the first game of the day, but Rusk stranded seven runners, compared to Robinson leaving five on board.
In the second game of the afternoon, Rusk's defense turned in a sub-par performance which gave the Rockettes a handful of extra outs to work with. Rusk committed four mistakes in the first two innings as Robinson built a 3-1 lead after two in a contest that the Rockettes never trailed in.
For the game, the Lady Eagles made six errors, to Robinson's one.
Chelsie Daniels went 3-for-4 at the plate for Rusk and scored a run.
Other offensive leaders for the Lady Eagles were, Juliann Bowling (2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored) and Kelsey Blankinship, Bailee Gates, Kara Hugghins and Rachel Miller who each added a single.
Rusk ends the year with a 25-4 slate while Robinson will advance to play Lufkin Hudson in a regional quarterfinal late next week.
Littlejohn and Bowling, thte club's two seniors, played their final game in a Lady Eagle uniform on Saturday.
