Jacksonville unleashed some nasty defense on the Hawkins Lady Hawks Friday afternoon and as a result the Fightin' Maidens were able to dish out a 51-26 defeat to Hawkins in Jacksonville's final game of the Hawkins Tournament.
The Maidens held the host team to single digits in each quarter in improving to 6-2 on the year.
Jasmine Parson, the Maidens' leading scorer, tossed in 14 points to spark her team to victory.
Inchantra Kendrick and Monica Franklin added eight points apiece while Mireya Gaitan and TaSheena Canady poured in a half-dozen points each.
Rounding out the point production for Jacksonville was Logan Freeman (3), MoQuesha Robertson (2) and Maddy Mathis (2).
Parson and Gaitan had two triple apiece for the Maidens.
The Maidens have an open date Tuesday before opening up in the Brownsboro-Great East Texas Shootout at 2:45 p.m.Thursday against state-ranked Martin's Mill.
The tournament is scheduled to run through Saturday.
