The Troup Tiger golf team, coached by John Eastman, earned a trip to the upcoming Class 2A State Tournament, after finished as the runner-up in the Class 2A, Region III Golf Championships, which were held earlier this month at Bullard's Oak Hurst and Peach Tree courses.
The Tiger linksters finished at 680 and trailed only Sabine, who won the event with a final tally of 667.
Crockett (692) took third place.
Senior Austin Chambers paced the Tiger effort by carding rounds of 79 and 82 to finish at 161.
Next was Travis Young (82-81 — 163) and Callen Eastman ( 94-85 — 179).
Cody Johnson (105-95 — 200) and Dakota Boyer (82-102 — 184) completed the order of finish for the Tiger linksters.
Low man in the individual standings was Jared Streeter of Sabine.
Streeter posted rounds of 73 and 72, respectively, to finish with a stroke total of 145.
The state tournament will take place at the Roy Kizer Golf Course in Austin.
