TYLER — The No.2-seed Lady Bucs shot 47.6% (10-21) from behind the arc which enabled Blinn to knock the No.4 seeded Lady Jaguars out of post season play.
The game went back-and-forth up until the 10:30 mark in the final half when JC standout Khadijah Carter had her legs cut out from under her while battling a Blinn player for a rebound.
Carter was knocked out for about five minutes after hitting the floor extremely hard. She was wheeled off of the court on a stretcher and was transported to a Tyler hospital, and after a complete exam, was released Friday night without any serious injuries, accordign to JC Athletic Director Lynn Nabi.
When play resumed after Carter's injury, Blinn when on an 11-3 run to establish seperation from the upset-minded Lady Jags.
Blinn also held a 47-32 rebound advantaage over the JC ladies.
Deva'Nyar Workman led JC in scoring with 18 points, followed by Carter's 13. Jasmine Robinson added 13 points as well.
Fatima Adams topped out with 16 points for the Lady Bucs (30-2) who will face the nation's top-ranked team, Trinity Valley, at 3 p.m. Saturday in the championship game.
JC ends the year with a record of 18-14.
