Jeremey Chappelle, who is from Jacksonville and is a graduate of The Brook Hill School, made, perhaps, his most important catch of the season in Mississippi State's 17-10 overtime victory over rival Ole Miss on Thursday night.

With less than a minute left in regulation, Chappelle hauled in a 13-yard catch from quarterback Dak Prescott, that kept the Bulldog drive alive with a first down as Mississippi State advanced down to the Ole Miss 36-yard line. Chappelle ran a shallow crossing route out into the flat and made the catch while a Rebel defender was tightly covering him.

The Bulldogs (6-6) eventually won in overtime to advance to a post-season bowl game for the fourth-straight season. Ole Miss finished the season at 7-5.

Chappelle is a junior wide receiver who has been used sparingly this year, but has paid dividends for his team when called upon.

Chappelle is the son of Veronica Hunter and Tyrone Chappelle.
