Jacksonville College tennis teams to open fall schedule in Tyler

Jacksonville College tennis teams will begin their second season on Friday when they take part in the ITA Regional Tournament at Tyler Junior College. Tourney action concludes on Saturday.

Key returnees for the Jaguars are Jonathan Taylor (Nassau, Bahamas), Gil Lim (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Daniel Apacible who resides in Corpus Christi.

Other Jags listed on the roster include, Edgar Polanco (Guatemala), Miles Munro (Killeen) and Brandon Bass, who is from Kaufman.

Leading the Lady Jags will be the team's strongest player from last season, Maria Coronel, who is from Peru. Coronel played one semester at Louisiana Tech (NCAA Division I) before coming to JC.

Groesbeck product Kailla Parker is also back for head coach Mark Robbins' women.

Other Lady Jags that could see action in Tyler this weekend are Kara Chitty (Frankston), Lamborghina Robinson (Houston) and Carolina and Cessia Hernandez, who are from Jacksonville.

Rounding out the ledger for the ladies is English-import Daisy Simms, who is also a member of the JC women's soccer team.
