The Kilgore Bulldogs made a statement scoring on their first five possessions for a quick 35-0 lead after the first quarter, and finished out a 49-7, win over Bullard, at R.E. St. John Stadium on Friday night.

Kilgore scored their first three touchdowns within the first 10-minutes of the contest to rock the Panthers early. The Bulldogs put the icing on the win answering Bullard’s lone TD with a 77-yard kickoff return from Joseph Sheppard to cap off the Bulldog domination.

Meanwhile, Bullard lost two-way standout, RB/LB, Brent Henderson, the team's leading rusher, on the second play of the game to a lower leg/ankle injury to further frustrate the Bullard squad.

Bulldog running back, Kervin Justice led the way to the goal line with 91-yards rushing, scoring three times in the first quarter on runs of 59, 6 and 2-yards. The 59-yard jaunt came on Kilgore’s first play from scrimmage.

The 51-yard completion from second-time starter, Xavier Gaona to Aaron Foy highlighted the Bulldogs second score.

Gaona got in for a score of his own with a 6-yard keeper with 2:05 left in the opening period.

Kris Haynes made a pickoff of a Mebane pass and returned it 23-yards, to set up Justice to score again with a 2-yard run, 14-seconds later.

The score was the 12th rushing TD of the year for Justice.

The Bulldogs (6-0; 2-0), man-handled Bullard on both lines, as Kilgore rolled to a 42-0 lead at the intermission on a JuJu Brown TD run with just seconds left in the first quarter. The score was due-in-part to a fumble recovery by Chris Powe's, at the Bullard 18.

Kilgore ran for 248-yards in 26 carries of offense in the game, adding 55-yards in two completions for 303 total yards in the contest.

The only Bullard (2-2, 0-1) score came at the 9:06 mark of the final quarter, as junior quarterback, Connor Mebane bulled over from one-yard out. Zach Aldridge tacked on the kick conversion and finished out the scoring in the game.

The Bullard signal-caller, Mebane led Bullard threw 11 times, completing 4, adding another 41-yards and scored the lone Panther TD.

Bullard was held to just 180 total yards in the game.

The second half was played with a continuous running clock by mutual agreement of both head coaches.
