New Summerfield wallops Wells, 89-50

With four players in double figures, New Summerfield pummeled the Pirates of Wells, winning 89-50 at Pirate Gymnasium Friday evening.

Case Wilkerson ended up with 25 points, with Francisco Parra pitching in 17.

Wilkerson drained four triples, while Parra made good on three shots from long range.

As a team New Summerfield hit on 9 of 21(41-percent) on its triple tries.

Other standouts for the Hornets were Wendl Thomas with 11 points and William Ramsey who fired in 10.

Angel Marroquin came up with 10 rebounds to go along with nine assists.

The Hornets led 43-28 at intermission.

New Summerfield improved to 4-1 in District 21-A-I with the win, while Wells dropped to 0-5 in league encounters.

The Hornets travel to Neches for a 7 p.m. Tip on Tuesday.
