H. S. Volleyball Roundup: Jacksonville, Bullard and Rusk fall in non-district play

JACKSONVILLE —

 

Gary 3, Jacksonville 0: Gary prevailed over the visiting Maidens, winning in straight sets, 25-11, 25-14 and 25-18 Tuesday evening. The Gary junior varsity team downed Jacksonville 2-0 (25-10, 25-22). IN the freshmen match, Jacksonville thumped Gary 2-0 (25-10, 25-12), however. Jacksonville visits Brook Hill at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The Lady Guard defeated the Maidens 3-0 late last month in Jacksonville.

 

Texas High 3, Bullard 1: The Lady Tigers of Texas High came into Panther Gymnasium Tuesday evening and tagged the Lady Panthers with a 3-1 loss. Bullard is now 16-8 on the year and will open District 16-3A play at 4:30 p.m. Friday by entertaining Spring Hill. The Lady panther JV team improved to 9-1 on the year by knocking off Texas High, 25-22, 25-14. Players of impact for the winners were Reagan Whatley and Mikaela Goode. Bullard also won the 9th grade match by a score of 2-0 (25-19, 25-14). Avery Ruffin and Zoe Hancock paced the lady panthers in the winning effort.

 

Nacogdoches 3, Rusk 2: Nacogdoches outlasted the Rusk Lady Eagles 3-2 in a highly competitive match that took place at Dragon Coliseum Tuesday. The Lady Eagles will play another member of District 16-4A at 5:30 p.m. Friday when Whitehouse is slated to visit Eagle Coliseum.
