Drew Walley and Houston Munsinger had a pair of hits apiece as Rusk improved to 7-10 on the year by doubling up Madisonville's Mustangs, 6-3, at Eagle Park on Friday.
Munsinger also drove in two runs in the non-district affair.
Rusk out hit Madisonville, 10-6, with the Mustangs committing six errors in the game to boot.
The game was tied at three going into the bottom of the fifth.
Rusk then plated three runs in the frame, which turned out to be enough to earn the Eagles the win.
Josh Raiborn worked six-strong innings and fanned seven Mustangs to collect the pitching win.
The Eagles return to District 19-3A play at 7 p.m. tonight by hosting Groesbeck. Both Groesbeck and Rusk are tied at 2-0 in the conference standings.
After tonight, the Red and Black will not play at home until 7 p.m. Mar. 28 when Palestine pays a visit to the Eagles.
