Volleyball Roundup: Maidens fall to state ranked White Oak; Bullard wins in 5

JACKSONVILLE — Non-district volleyball action from Tuesday night saw the Jacksonville Fight'n Maidens drop a 3-0 decision to state-ranked White Oak, while Bullard logged a 3-2 win over Arp.

Rusk's match with Kilgore was canceled for unknown reasons.

The Maidens fought hard against the No.6-ranked team in Class 2A, losing 19-25, 16-25 and 15-25.

The Lady 'Necks also won the 9th grade and junior varsity matches by 2-0 counts.

The Jacksonville girls will take part in the Sabine Tournament on Thursday and Saturday.

Bullard (12-5) won its second-straight 5-set affair in upending the Lady Tigers 20-25, 25-10, 15-25, 25-17, 15-13.

Players of impact for Bullard included Ashley Searcy with eight kills, four aces and a pair of blocks and Mackenzie Fish who put down nine spikes and had 13 digs.

Katie Cole added 12 digs for the winners with Rachel Kelley tossing in seven aces and 15 assists.

Maddy Davis also turned in a sparkling performance in going 20-for-20 from the service line with two back-line gems.

The Lady Panther JV squad downed Arp. 2-0, while the Bullard 9th graders won, 2-1.

Bullard plays in the Brownsboro Tournament this weekend.
