Tyler Junior College rallied in the second half to beat Jacksonville College, 73-70, in a Region XIV contest that took place at the Curtis Carroll Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.

The Jaguars (4-8, 0-3 Region XIV) led 35-31 at halftime, but TJC took the lead for good at the 15:24 mark of the second half when Todd Eaglin drained an uncontested trey from straight away that made the score 42-39 in favor of the Apaches (8-2, 2-1).

TJC led by as many as 13 points in the final period but the Jags battled back to cut the margin to single digits with just over 13 minutes remaining and from that juncture on the game stayed close.

JC closed things out on a 7-2 run but it was too little, too late.

The Apaches' Dominique Shaw led all players with 21 points and Eaglin finished with 13, after going 4-7 from beyond the arc.

Chris Campbell sparked JC on both ends of the floor and came away with a double-double (13 points and 12 rebounds).

Raheem Watts fired in 10 points followed by Anthony Sharp and Jake Eynon with eight apiece.

Both teams relied heavily on the three ball, with TJC hitting 10-31 (32.3%) from afar compared to the Jags going 5-22 (22.7%) from long range.

TJC drained 14-20 second half free throws, with JC shooting six freebies and connecting on two of them.

The Jags will wrap up the 2013 portion of their schedule by visiting Trinity Valley at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
