Bullard QB Mebane garners Daily Progress Player of the Week accolades

JACKSONVILLE —

Connor Mebane, this week's Daily Progress Player of the Week, did just about everything except pop the popcorn and take tickets Friday night as his Bullard Panthers kept their playoff hopes alive by upsetting Gladewater, 21-14, in a District 16-3A game that took place at Panther Stadium in Bullard.

Offensively the Bullard quarterback carried 21 times for 94 yards and a touchdown. He also passed for 203 yards (11-16-0) and a pair of scoring strikes.

And let's not overlook Mebane's defensive contributions where he had three solo tackles and a deflection.

Mebane leads his team in rushing (96-501, 5 TDs) and has passed for 546 yards (38-64-1) and 4 touchdowns so far this season.
