Alto quarterback Zac Sturns has garnered Daily Progress Player of the Week honors for Week 10.The senior field general carried 14 times and tallied 138 yards and two touchdowns in the Yellowjackets' 42-36 triumph over Shelbyville on the final night of the regular season.
Sturns also had an impressive night throwing the ball.
He went 12-of-18 through the skies for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
Sturns played a key role in the Alto victory which assured the team of a second-place finish in District 10-A-I.
Carter McCown, QB, Jacksonville — McCown hit on 20 of 35 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. For the year he went 186-353-14 — 2,275. He accounted for 17 touchdown passes while completing 52.7-percent of his pass attempts.
Hitachi Lydia, WR, Troup — Lydia was part of an offensive onslaught that waxed Sabine 40-30 on Friday. He hauled in three catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns.
