With five Jacksonville-area players included on this season's Tyler Junior College football roster, interest in the Apaches should be high.
TJC is slated to open the regular season at home on Saturday night (7:30) p.m.) by entertaining Fort Scott (Kansas).
Those area talents include former Jacksonville Indians, Tedrick Tilley, Dadrian Franklin, Darrell Minifee and Ledarius Session.
Chaston Bennett of Rusk is also a member of the Apache squad as is Santiago Escobar, a Bullard High product.
Tilley and Escobar are sophomores, with the remaining young men being freshmen.
TJC was picked by the Southwest Junior College Football Conference coaches to come in fourth behind Navarro, Kilgore and Northeastern Oklahoma, in the pre-season poll.
