BULLARD — Jonathan Shelton, 15, of Bullard fired a 2-over 73 to win the championship in the Emerald Bay Country Club's NTJPGA tour stop, which took place on Monday. Shelton competed in the boys 15-16 division.
Shelton out performed Lucas Coapman and July Latimar, who knotted up for second at 75.
The victory was Shelton's second of the season — he also took home bragging rights in the Eagle's Bluff tourney on June 20.
Other local and area golfers of note, Troup's Jamey Scruggs finished in a three-way tie for sixth place at 80.
Cash Cleaver, who attends Jacksonville High School, ended up in a three-way tie for 14th place after shooting an 83.
Callen Eastman of Troup wrapped up play at 92 (22nd place).
Twenty-six young men contested things in the division.
The tournament was presented by Ewing Automotive.
