Workman's triple double paces JC ladies to win over TJC

TYLER — Jacksonville College earned a 66-56 triumph over Tyler Junior College Saturday afternoon at Wagstaff Gymnasium in Region XIV women's action.

Deva'Nyar Workman, a sophomore from Reading, PA chalked up a rare triple-double for the Lady Jags (12-10, 5-4 Region XIV).

Workman scored 16 points, came down with 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in the game.

Khadijah Carter led JC in scoring with 20 points. She also had nine boards.

Chelsea Rogers also had a noteworthy effort in scoring 10 points and coming away with six caroms.

Jasmine Robinson scored nine points for the winners.

JC out husteld the short-staff Apache Ladies from the get go and forged out a 30-25 lead at the break.

TJC pulled to within three on several occasions in the second half before the Lady Jags pulled away for good late.

The TJC women are now 10-12, 3-6.

The loss ended a two-game TJC winning streak.
