Rusk native Sydney Littlejohn improved her record to 8-0 for the season Wednesday evening when she was credited with the pitching win in No. 2-ranked Alabama's 4-3 triumph over Alabama-Birmingham.
Littlejohn, a true freshman, worked 6.2 innings and gave up three runs (all earned) on seven hits.

Running With The Tribe, a 5k fun run will take place Saturday at the Jacksonville High School cross country course, which starts on the soccer practice fields near the tennis courts.
Registration gets under way at 8 a.m., with the race to begin at 9 a.m.
JMS Track: Podium finishes and shattered school records for Braves
Jacksonville Middle School's 8th-grade Braves' track and field team finished in second place, scoring 1113 points, at the recent Distirct 16-4A meet held in Whitehouse.
The JMS 7th-grade boys garnered 105 points and notched a third-place effort.
According to Phil Nash, JMS athletic coordinator, three school records were set at the meet and numerous personal bests were attained as the middle schoolers continue to prepare to become Fightin' Indians.

Officials of the Jacksonville High School athletic department stated late Thursday morning that their has been time change for the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians' Class 4A, Region III state semi-final soccer match against the Spring Woods Tigers.
The University Interscholastic League moved the start time of Friday's match up to 11 a.m. — it previously was scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Jacksonville's Fightin' Maiden softball team is about a whisker away from earning what would be a school-first playoff appearance, after the Maidens carved out a 9-2 win over Nacogdoches at Lady Dragon Softball Field Tuesday night.
Jacksonville is now 3-4 in District 16-4A play and is two games in front of fifth-place Nacogdoches (1-6), with three regular season games left on the docket.
