JACKSONVILLE —

Cathryn Brooke Cummins and Douglas Brody Norton were united in marriage Saturday, June 11, 2011 in a beautiful evening ceremony at Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Texas.  Officiating the ceremony was Joe Ballard, cousin of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Carol and Mike Cummins of Jacksonville, Texas.  She is the granddaughter of Wanda and Wyndel Cummins and the late Edith and Leon Short.  Brooke is a 2006 graduate of Jacksonville High School and a 2010 graduate of Texas A & M University in College Station.

The groom is the son of Tracy Norton and Doug Norton.   He is the grandson of Lila and James Whitesides and Joanne Hart and James Norton.  Brody is a 2005 graduate of The Brook Hill School and a 2009 graduate of Texas A & M University in College Station. He is currently employed by Arctic Slope Regional Corporation in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and her brother, Brian Cummins.  She wore a diamond white, shimmer satin strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline.  A glimmering beaded embellishment introduced a gentle fluted side drape, and a luxurious jeweled band accented the empire waist.  The A-line skirt and train were finished with a plush balloon hem.  Her fingertip veil was trimmed with Swarovski crystals.  The hand-tied bridal bouquet consisted of pink and white peonies, pink roses, and gloriosa lilies.  It was accented with rhinestones, pearls, and an antique brooch.  The bride carried out the tradition of something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

Matron of Honor was Caitlin Covey, cousin of the bride.  Bridesmaids were Kristen Minton, Heather Mann, Sarah Reagan, Kelsey Norton, Nicole Robinson, and Kelley Nease.

Best Man was Ryan Westbrook, cousin of the groom.  Groomsmen were Wesley Johnson, Brian Raiborn, Tyler Wright, Weston Boyd, Kelton Todd, and Brian Cummins.  Serving as ushers were Josh Kersh, Cody Johnson, Luke Thomason, Bo Seamands, Logan Russell, and Gavin Uttecht.

Tiffany Hardy, cousin of the groom, and Ashlyn Scoggins, cousin of the bride, served as flower girls.  Tanner Transier, cousin of the groom, and Gage Musgrave, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearers.  Mark Lukas, cousin of the bride, sang “You Raise Me Up,” and Kristen Minton, lifelong friend of the bride, sang “Love Never Fails.”  The wedding party recited I Corinthians 13: 4 – 8, and Kaysie Woody, college friend of the bride, read a special passage from Ecclesiastes.  Members of the house party were Ellen Ballard, Victoria Beall, Kelsie Claussen, and Chelsea Dumas.

A dinner reception was held immediately following the ceremony at The Legacy in Jacksonville.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s family at their home on Lake Palestine on Friday, June 10, immediately following the rehearsal.

Following their honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple now resides in Yukon, Oklahoma.
