Making history

The latest addition to the Jacksonville High School’s Corridor of Champions is the framed jersey of Chicago Cubs’ firstbaseman Micah Hoffpauir, a former Indian and Lon Morris College baseball standout. Hoffpauir is the first professional baseball player to have his jersey go up inside the fieldhouse. He is in his first full season as a Cub and is currently hitting .240 (42-for-175) and has belted eight home runs and driven in 25 runs in 77 games played. Hoffpauir, along with wife Tiffany and daughter Addyson, reside in Jacksonville during the off season. The Corridor of Champions, which honors former Indians that have gone on to excel at the professional level of their respective sport, is located inside the JHS Fieldhouse.
