Man believed killed in Cherokee County trailer park blaze

Story still developing

CHEROKEE COUNTY —

A man was believed killed Friday night in a mobile home fire that started at Cherokee County's Adcock Trailer Park Complex just outside Jacksonville.

It was unclear if the man believed killed in the 7:20 p.m. was a resident of the mobile home — as identification was not immediately available Friday.

Jacksonville Fire Lt. Mike Terry said firefighters on the scene immediately started searching for the victim after being notified he was inside the home.

“They didn't find anybody at first and went in for a second look and still couldn't locate him,” the lieutenant said. “They found him awhile later in the burned-out section of the trailer.”

The story is still developing and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
