GALLATIN — Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department will fire up the pit Saturday to raise funds for the department by selling barbecue plates.

Serving begins at 11 a.m. at the fire station on FM 22 south of Jacksonville.

Barbecue and sausage plates are $12 each, while sandwich plates are $8 per person. Both include potato salad, tea and dessert.

Beef and sausage also will be sold for $10 a pound, said Gallatin Fire Chief George Bostick IV. Proceeds benefit the Gallatin VFD.
