The Bullard High School Panther Marching Band received First Division "Superior" ratings from all three judges at the National Association of Military Marching Bands State Marching Contest on Saturday, November 2, 2013, in Homer Bryce Stadium on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.
All bands performing must adhere to the Creed of NAMMB: “Recognizing the importance and rich heritage of the precision marching unit, the National Association of Military Marching Bands hereby affirms to promote and preserve the military precision style of performance among marching bands of America and to encourage the superior performance of traditional march music from band literature.”
Judge Brian Britt, Director of Fine Arts for Richardson ISD said “band plays with good sounds and energy! The band has good solid posture and horn carriage. A really nice job on a variety of challenging maneuvers today. Good flow and creativity of drill design and very effective drill and music combination!”
Judge George Strickland, Music Assistant for the UIL State Office said “nice style of opening fanfare. Great ensemble sounds! Thank you for the attention to phrase endings and dynamics. A well prepared performance today band! I really enjoyed your show- you have lots of PRIDE! Congratulations!”
Judge Stuart Bird, former Director of Bands at Carthage ISD and currently interim Superintendent of Schools for Troup ISD said “nice ensemble sounds throughout the band. Nice detail to march style of playing. Good carriage, stride and drill design! Band does a good job at careful marching and playing, well taught! Congratulations Band!”
This is a state level contest and featured military bands from East Texas, Beaumont area and the Houston area. Congratulations to the First Division, Bullard High School Panther Marching Band!
You are invited to hear the award winning Bullard High School Band in the Red, White & Blue Day Parade on November 9, 2013 in Bullard and in concert on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. for a Veterans Day Program and Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. for our annual Christmas Concert. Both concerts are in the Bullard High School, Audry Owens Auditorium. Everyone is invited to attend. The Bullard High School Panther Band is directed by Gary Jordan and assisted by Chelsye Emmons, Gehrig Blankenship and R.J. Morgan.
