County set to discuss array of items

CHEROKEE COUNTY — County Commissioners will meet in regular session 10 a.m. Monday in the Cherokee County Courtroom and will consider the following agenda items:

• Consider request to purchase vehicles for the Sheriff's Department;

• Consider acceptance of the Cherokee County Payroll Policy;

• Consider permission to join TIPS, another co-op purchasing agreement similar to Buy Board);

• Hear from the County Extension Office and consider approval of a new hire family & consumer science agent to replace Wendi Green, who retired earlier this year;

• Consider approval to purchase a new boom mower through Buy Board for one or more precincts;

• Consider approval to assist the New Summerfield Fire Department in fixing parking lot at their station;

• Consider and vote to accept one or more precincts' annual road reports;

• Consider request to set a public hearing to lower the speed limit to 30 mph on County Roads 3501 and 3502;

• Consider approval of consent agenda items, including monthly reports from the sheriff's department, the county auditor and the License & Weight Department, and authorize the payment of bills, payroll and transfer of funds.
