CHEROKEE COUNTY —
Cherokee County commissioners opted Monday not to close CR 2402, according to Cherokee County Judge Chris Davis.
"It's more of a driveway ... and we needed a unanimous vote to close it," David said.
Pct. 3 Commissioner Katherine Pinotti voted against the closure.
However, commissioners approved a public hearing for the next regular meeting on July 7 to discuss lowering the speed limit to 35 mph on CRs 4910, 4911, 4912 and 4918.
In other business, county commissioner's received a good audit report during Monday's regular meeting, Davis said.
"It was a good, clean audit, and that makes us feel good," Davis said.
A few agenda items regarding leases, an equipment purchase and construction of a hangar at the Cherokee County Airport were also approved.
"The airport is growing and booming, so that's a good thing," Davis said.
One item was tabled during the meeting. An interlocal agreement with the City of Cuney and Pct. 3 to assume all road maintenance within the city limits is being "redone," according to Davis.
Other items approved during Monday's meeting included:
• A maintenance agreement with Vaisala for AWOS;
• A contract for one more precincts to purchase stockpile of material from Cherokee County Motor Park Inc.; and
• A lease between Edward Snider and E.G. & A.M. Snider Living Trust.
