Jacksonville's Sonic Drive-In, 1105 South Jackson St., was damaged by a late afternoon fire on Saturday.
The fire, which according to early reports appeared to be electrical in nature, broke out about 4:40 p.m.
Several units of the Jacksonville Fire Department, as well as a Jacksonville EMS unit were quick to arrive at the scene.
Heavy smoke was seen bellowing out of the roof of the restaurant as a a team of fireman battled the blaze.There were no reports of injury to either Sonic employees or customers.
The restaurant's employees and management gathered in a vacant lot just north of the Sonic and looked on as firemen worked to get the fire under control.
Jacksonville Police Department units as well as Texas Department of Public Safety officers assisted with traffic control in the area.
