Speed limits on 4 roads on county’s agenda

CHEROKEE COUNTY — A public hearing on setting speed limits to 35 miles per hour along four county roads will be held during a 10 a.m. Cherokee County Commissioners Court meeting Monday.

Roads under consideration are CR 4910, CR 4911, CR 4912 and CR 4918, according to a meeting agenda.

The court also will take into consideration a proposal by the County Public Health Department to enter into an agreement with the Northeast Texas Public Health District.

In conjunction, the court will hear a presentation by that department to delegate internal policy development, evaluation and implementation responsibilities to CCPHD executive director Christopher Taylor and as well as recognize clinic staff for a recent audit by the Department of State Health Services.

Other agenda items include:

• Hear a presentation of a proposed Fiscal Year 2015 budget by Cherokee County Juvenile Services;

• Consider bids on trucks for the License and Weight Department, along with one or more precinct;

• Consider approval of precincts to auction used equipment through Auctioneer Express services;

• Consider approval of  2014-2015 Renewal of Health Insurance for Cherokee County employees;

• Consider acceptance of lease-purchase financing for IBM Computer Equipment;

• Present a distinguished  service award to the Cherokee County Historical Commission for outstanding preservation work in 2013; and

• Hold a budget workshop Monday, according to their agenda.
