‘Revolution’ hits the rails in Rusk

RUSK — For the past two weeks the Texas State Railroad has played host to the hit NBC TV show Revolution.

The cast and crew shot the first half of a two-part finale for the show’s second season.

Set construction took place the first week with a construction crew, painters, set decorators and the greens department preparing each scene location to have that special Revolution look.

The cast and crew spent four days shooting daytime and nighttime scenes at various locations on the railroad’s property.

There is no date yet for when this episode will air, but it will be in May and there will be a follow-up notice to let everyone know the date so they can watch it.

Revolution, produced by Bonanza Productions, Inc. airs at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays on NBC.

This is a big deal for the Texas State Railroad. It’s the first big production event at the TSRR since 2007, when filming occurred for the feature The Great Debaters, starring Denzel Washington.

Railroad management is optimistic about the possibility of bringing more production work to the TSRR in the future.
