Cherokee County inmate ‘walks off’ from jail

CHEROKEE COUNTY — Cherokee County officials are searching for an inmate who walked away from the jail Wednesday evening.

According to Capt. John Raffield, Thomas Kyle Wagoner, 23, was an inmate who was outside as a trustee and had regular access outdoors.

He said about 7:45 p.m., Wagoner “walked off from the Cherokee County jail.”

Wagoner is 6-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 220 lbs.

He has brown eyes and brown hair.

He has various noticeable tattoos, as well, that may help in identifying him.

Raffield said Wagoner has family in Cherokee County, and in the areas of Frankston, Troup and Whitehouse, so he may still be in the area.

Anyone who sees Wagoner or knows of his whereabouts should call the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department at (903) 683-2271.
