JACKSONVILLE — Meals on Wheels – Jacksonville manager Tammy Carraway, center, visits with Bonner Street Plaza marketing director Daniel Minton, left, and BSP administrator Mark Tang, during a Sept. 14 fall festival at the facility that helped raise approximately $500 for the local Meals on Wheels program, said Minton, who also volunteers with the food program.

While the umbrella organization is known as Meals on Wheels of Palestine, Inc., “the money we raised stays here in Cherokee County,” providing healthy meals for 100 Jacksonville clients, as well as 5,000 county residents, each month, he said.

The festival featured a silent auction that had a number of sports memorabilia items, including an autographed baseball signed by Chris Davis and a four-day cruise for two.

Meals on Wheels’ Jacksonville office is located at 300 S. Bolton, and is managed by Tammy Carraway. Four paid drivers and 18 volunteers help provide meals to housebound individuals in Cherokee County.
