JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville Christian School sixth-grader Rebecca Morris affixes a rubber balloon to the top of a used water bottle as she prepares to demonstrate her science project, “Inflation, Inflation!” Students in grades 4-8 are taking part in Friday's science fair, held annually at the 1218 Corinth Road Campus, said math and science instructor Brenda Travis. Participants chose projects and set up display boards to describe their experiments. In Rebecca's case, it was to demonstrate how combining common household goods like baking soda and vinegar produces carbon dioxide, which created “air” to inflate a balloon.
