Jacksonville firefighters responded to a house fire recently that resulted in a total loss, according to Capt. Ted Hunt of the Jacksonville Fire Department.
"It was an attic fire. The roof was pretty well burned off by the time we arrived on scene," Hunt said.
Nobody was at the brick home at the time of the fire, and Hunt said it took crews about 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was reported about 8 p.m Sunday at the residence on County Road 3223 off Hwy. 79.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the fire, Hunt said. A crew from the Neches Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the fire.
