Motorist taken to hospital after pried from car by Jaws Of Life

NEW SUMMERFIELD — Area authorities were called to the New Summerfield area Thursday morning to help pry a motorist who crashed into a tree out of a car.

Jacksonville Firefighters and EMS were among those called to the scene east of Hwy. 79 about 9:15 a.m., and a Jaws Of Life was the device used to extricate her from the vehicle, authorities said.

The injured woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, according to reports.
