Investigation ongoing in business burglaries, JPD detective says

JACKSONVILLE — In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 18, a burglary was reported at Foster's Saw & Equipment in the 900 block of East Rusk Street.

Jacksonville Police Detective Greg Compton said a gas-trimmer was taken during the burglary.

"Detectives were able to locate several pieces of evidence," Compton said.

On Thursday, June 19, a suspect was determined based on physical evidence.

Jimmy Deshawn Mosley, 49, of Jacksonville was charged with burglary of a building, a state-jail felony.

Mosley was arraigned Sunday morning, and bail was set at $5,000.

"We believe that Mosley is also connected to several other business burglaries in Jacksonville. We are working to determine if he was, in fact, connected," Compton said.

Compton added that Mosley has several previous arrests by the JPD and Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
