Area residents dig in as they sample a variety of desserts served during Wednesday's annual Thanksgiving luncheon at The H.O.PE. Center Kitchen in Jacksonville. Each year, city officials team up to help serve the traditional no-cost meal. Interim JPD Chief Mike Alexander and City Secretary Greg Lowe visit diners with refills and dessert. This year, approximately 200 meals were prepared, with preparations beginning the week before, said H.O.P.E. Kitchen manager Andy Davis.
