RUSK – Emergency responders will have an smoother time of finding specific locations along County Road 4716, thanks to the Cherokee County Commissioners Court, which approved corrections to 9-1-1 addressing along the route during their regular meeting on Tuesday.

According to County Clerk Laverne Lusk, “the same address has created problems for responders (going to residences) along Texas Highway 110 to Concord, because the addresses conflict with each other. Now they know whether its east or west on that county road.”

In other action, the court adopted an order for the disbursement of salaries and routine office expenses allowed by Texas Senate Bill 354, effective immediately, and approved a request from Craft-Turney Water Supply Corp. to bore two areas along CR 3108.

Additionally, county leaders approved Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell's May department report and approved a consent agenda that included Commissioners' Court meeting minutes, a monthly report by the Precinct 2 Constable and authorizing payment of bills, payroll and transfer of funds.
