Shonda McCutcheon Potter recently announced her candidacy for Cherokee County tax assessor-collector.
She is a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, born and raised in New Summerfield, and she is a member of the Church of Christ. She has been married to Jim Potter for 24 years, and they have three children: Justin, Allison and Amanda.
“I started my career with the Cherokee County Tax Office in 1994 under Linda Beard as my teacher and mentor, and I continued to serve under Linda Little since 2008. I have been chief deputy since 1999 and completed my Professional County Collector Certification in March 2013,” Potter said.
She added that these opportunities have given her an extensive amount of experience and knowledge working in the tax office.
“With 25 years' experience, this has prepared me to be your best candidate for tax assessor-collector of Cherokee County. I always strive to provide excellent service to the residents of Cherokee County. If I am elected, it will be a seamless transition becoming your tax assessor-collector.”
“I will be a full-time tax assessor and will work hard for the taxpayers of Cherokee County. I ask for your support and vote in the upcoming election in March 2020.”
