Travis Clardy

NACOGDOCHES – State Rep. Travis Clardy recently filed to seek re-election to represent House District 11 in the Texas House of Representatives.

“It has been a distinct honor and privilege to serve the people of Cherokee, Nacogdoches, and Rusk counties," Clardy said. "I am proud of the legislative accomplishments that have been made to benefit our district, and I look forward to the opportunity to further a vision that leads to a bright future for the people of House District 11 and all of Texas.”

Clardy was first elected in 2012 and has championed education, mental health, border security, and economic development initiatives. He has a strong record of upholding the conservative values of House District 11 by supporting efforts to promote the sanctity of life and the family, eliminating unnecessary government spending, and protecting Constitutional rights as well as the free market principles that enable our economy to grow and create jobs and opportunities.

“Our region is a great place to live and raise a family but much work remains to promote the many attributes that make District 11 special. I look forward to continuing as a strong conservative and experienced voice at the Capitol for the people of East Texas.” Clardy said. “I appreciate the encouragement and good will I have received from the people of House District 11 and humbly ask for their continued support in the upcoming election cycle.”

Governor Greg Abbott endorsed his re-election campaign stating, “Thanks to leaders like Representative Travis Clardy, Texas has made great strides in reforming our school finance and property tax systems,” said Governor Abbott. “I am proud to endorse Representative Clardy for re-election, and I am confident that he will continue to work hard to keep Texas on top.”

Among his accomplishments, Rep. Clardy received the Legislator of the Year Award from the Texas Municipal League for his work to defeat Senate Bill 29, which would have usurped local control. He was also named Legislator of the Year by both Deep East Texas Council of Governments and the East Texas Council of Governments. Finally, he was named as a Legislative Champion by the Texas Health Care Association for the second session in a row for his efforts to improve nursing home care across the state.

Rep. Travis Clardy represents Cherokee, Nacogdoches, and Rusk counties in the Texas House of Representatives. He serves on the Human Services and Homeland Security and Public Safety Committees. He and his wife, Judy, reside in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he practices law as a partner of the Texas-based Kelly Hart & Hallman law firm. Visit for more information on Rep. Clardy.
