Cherokee County voters now have the luxury of stopping at just one office for all their voting needs.
Tax Assessor-Collector Linda Little said the change is effective Oct. 1.
“Now the taxpayers and voters have one place for all their voting needs,” she said. “Before this change, part of them were in my office and part were in (County Clerk) Laverne Lusk's office. People had to go from one place for this to another place for that.”
Little said everything voting related is now housed in the county's EA building across from the post office in Rusk.
“It was the right decision for the commissioners to make,” she said of the move, citing ease of use for taxpayers.
