The Neches and Trinity Valleys Groundwater Conservation District’s board of directors will hold its first meeting since Sept. 13, this Thursday.

The district will open this month’s meeting by considering two well drilling applications. Both the city of Rusk and the Cross Roads Community WSC are seeking permission from the district to drill a new water well.

Consideration and possible action will also be taken regarding the appointment of an independent auditor to conduct the district’s 2007 financial audit.

General Manager Roy Rodgers will update the board regarding the district’s business, and the directors will take any needed action. The board will also consider and approve the date for the district’s next meeting.

Other agenda items include:

• approval of the minutes from previous meetings;

• possible changes to the district retirement plan; and

• paying the bills.

All meetings of the NTVGCD are open to the public. The district holds all meetings of the board of directors at their offices at 212 S. Main St. in Jacksonville.
