Okay, so you’ve braved the crowds on Black Friday and brought home something for everyone on the list. Now the only thing left to do is wrap those Christmas gifts.

If you’re all thumbs when it comes to preparing a picture-perfect Christmas package, take your purchases to the Jacksonville College Theater Program’s gift wrapping service.

JC theater students will be on hand at the Jacksonville Senior Center all this week from 1 to 4 p.m. and Dec. 3-7 to wrap every gift in festive holiday trappings.

“We’ve got every kind of paper possible,” wrapper Andrew Haverty said Monday as he and his fellow thespian students awaited packages to wrap. “And if we don’t have something you’re looking for, we’ll get it.”

Customers get their choice of paper, ribbon and gift tags. Boxes are also provided for clothing items.

“We can even hand make bows for you,” student Brady Bolton said.

Students are also happy to wrap gifts in paper customers provide.

Wrapping fees are $2 per small-sized gifts; $3 per medium-sized gifts; $5 for large-sized gifts; and $7.50 and up for extra large gifts.

All proceeds of the gift wrapping services benefit the JC Theater Program’s Travel Study Group’s five-day trip to New York in the spring.

“We want to raise funds to help pay for the trip,” student Heather Storen said.

The trip will include attending two Broadway plays.

“We’re actually scheduled to see two productions, but we’re going to try to squeeze in two more if time allows,” JC Theater Director Mary Lewis said.

Lewis said this the fourth trip the Study Group has made. Other trips were to London, Ireland and Scotland.

“We thought since this is a theater group, we should go to New York, the theater capital,” Lewis said.
